Keep Greene Beautiful Events

Get Involved

Keep Greene Beautiful arranges a number of local events in order to promote civic responsibility, instill community pride and get citizens involved in keeping the community beautiful and green. These events range from networking events to breakfasts and fundraisers to trash collection drives.

Great American Cleanup

The Great American Cleanup, held from March to May, is the nation’s largest community improvement program built on the foundation of individual responsibility and civic pride.  Local groups and organizations are encouraged to initiate cleanup and beautification projects in conjunction with this national program.


Garbage bags and cleanup items are available at no cost.

Arbor Day Celebration

Arbor Day is celebrated nationwide on March 1, and Keep Greene Beautiful plans activities to support the event each year.

Keep Greene Beautiful Golf Tournament

This golf tournament, Keep Greene Beautiful’s largest fundraiser of the year, will be held AUGUST 12, 2021

Hazardous Household Waste Collection

The Hazardous Household Waste Collection is sponsored by the state of Tennessee and held annually to allow citizens of Greene County to dispose of hazardous household waste that cannot be thrown away like regular trash.  

The 2021 collection will be held on November 13, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Hal Henard Elementary parking lot.  Click here for a list of items accepted at the collection

Sanitation Appreciation Breakfast

This breakfast is held to recognize employees of the Greeneville Public Works Department, the Greeneville/Greene County Landfill and Greene County Solid Waste Department for their outstanding service during the year.
